Just a curious thought to help me through the process
So far… I have taken it zero times as a rising junior, but I’m taking it for the first time in August.
Have a good day!
Oh I’m also taking it in August… best of luck to you!!
I took it twice, once on a Saturday at a local testing center and another time through my high school. I also took the ACT once. I’d try them both (SAT and ACT) because most students find that they are better suited for one over the other-- for me it was the ACT, despite my taking the SAT twice and taking a prep course. Good luck on the testing!
Only once (but I took the PSAT before). It’s common to retake a few times for a better score, but I did not.
I took it twice, getting 1190 and 1290. I took the ACT once and got a 30, including a 33 in math. As it is a bit obvious, I never thought about taking standardized tests again.
Took it twice, not taking it again. Got a 1400 first time, 1430 the second time. The 1430 was the June 2018 SAT which is quite controversial right now. Advice: Study for the hardest SAT possible, and hope you get a pretty good test because easy = horrible curve. I did so much better the second time but the curve ruined my score.
@dewyyy Thank you very much! Same to you.
Have a good day!
Took it in 8th grade and got a 1290 and took the ACT with writing provided by my school in February and got a 33.
I took the ACT once then I took the SAT once because I had to for National Merit.
My daughter never took the SAT (missed NM cut off by one question so didn’t bother) and took the ACT twice. She would have happily taken her first score but her school made everyone sit for another test in the spring.
My daughter took the PSAT in school sophomore and junior year. The winter of her junior year she took an MIT SAT prep class on the weekend. In May she took her SAT. She was happy with her score and was finished.
Once in spring of sophomore year. Once in spring of junior year. Done. I have spoken to reps and they do not recommend taking it more than three times or else you look desperate.
- taking the SAT october 6th (all the testing centers near me are full, lol... closest one is over an hour away). wish me luck! and gl to everyone taking it soon!
I have only taken it once as a junior, Im not going to be a senior and I plan on taking it again in October. I got a 1040. Not sure if that’s a good grade or not
