How many times I can take SAT? Is there any limit?

<p>I have heard that I should not take SAT no more than 3 times. I am applying for the following schools:</p>

<p>Although colleges might not want to see someone who has spent their whole life on taking the SAT. The golden rule is generally three, but it varies. Some people take it six times, others only take it once.</p>

<p>See if the colleges you’re interested in allow scorechoice.</p>

<p>There is no limit but after a third taking with extensive prep, I don’t think further tests will dramatically change one’s scores.</p>

<p>Yeah, by the time one takes the test a 2nd time (unless they took it first in 7th grade or something), there should have been extensive studying to the point that that would’ve been all they could’ve done to prepare (and also to compare curves to the first test). A third time is a safety for the first two, like if the first two had horrible curves or a bad day or something. Any more than that is unnecessary unless one regrets not studying enough or truly believe they haven’t taken the test to their capacity/potential.</p>

<p>My friend took it 4 times, and he got into both JHU and Yale. You colleges don’t seem to have a problem with it.</p>

<p>Some colleges dislike it as they insist they do not want “grade grubbers”.
n my case I took it once. Even though it is nothing like the 2400 SAT scores you see here I decided I was fine with it and prepared for SAT II.</p>
