Hi,
I am applying as a transfer student for fall 2013. I asked my professor to send out 12 school recommendations. Initially I asked for 8 in Oct., he sent them out then in Nov or so I asked him to send to 4 more schools. He did. Recently , in the beginning of february I asked him to send rec's to one more school and two scholarships. He did so very kindly. My thought is - I want to ask him to send out rec's to three final scholarships. He has been very helpful and kind, so I'm not so much worried that he will say no, I'm worried I will be a bother to him, and that it may be rude to ask him to send out recommendations for the fourth time this year. This would be the final time, but I still feel like that's a lot to ask from a Professor. How much is too much? Thoughts? Thanks.

Like you said, he probably won’t have a problem with it, but if you have another professor that you think would write an equally good rec, you should consider asking them. If not, just ask him again, but supply him with addressed envelopes, stamps, etc. so he has to do minimal work.
