I want to get a good score on the act but l only got a 29, so I wonder if I should keep taking them throughout high school? ( I'm only a freshman). Will colleges look at how many times I've taken the act? I really want to go to an ivy league college (it's going to be a long shot) and I'm afraid they will not even look at me if I take it too many times.

They will not look at you badly for taking early… In fact, I’d guess that the opposite were true… Your mind still hasn’t fully developed. You can take it once or twice a year. I think it looks bad when you take it several times as a senior or junior and you are not improving or barely improving your score. My friend got a 21 on his ACT as a freshman, and he got 33 plus as a Sr., so you’re doing great. And don’t worry about ACTs and stuff now… It’s not worth the pain. Enjoy high school. Yes, take the ACT several times, but don’t overdo it mentally.

Okay, thank you for the advice!

12 times is maximum. I called ACT last month. They said.

Prob 3.
First time to get the gist of it.
Second to get your best score after months of studying.
Third for a safety.

I don’t think you are taking into consideration the fact that he is a freshman…
