How many times should I take the SAT?

Is it detrimental on college applications to take the SAT several times (as in 4+ times)? I've already taken it twice sophomore year, just to get used to it, and I plan to take it a couple more times this year. Will this hurt me in the application process?

it depends on which college you wanna go. some colleges take your average score (which is said in PR 11 test). Some take your highest. Some take your lowest. And some take your first

Yes, but will the college see how many times I've taken it?

Just like what I said it depends. you should really go to the official web of the college your wanna gooooooooo

My first choice is the UPenn Huntsman Program, followed by Harvard. UPenn doesn't have any info, but Harvard says, "We consider a student's best test scores, but it is generally our experience that taking tests more than twice offers diminishing returns." What does that mean?

which means if you took the test more then twice, they might consider your score less important or significant. Like what i said it really cannot tell. but generally not more than 3 times. But it's hard to tell.
