<p>I am a double major and have to finish my prereq's by the end of this year which means 16 units winter quarter and 20 units spring quarter is that allowed in a UC...(Riverside)?</p>
<p>Talk to the registrar’s office. My school only allowed a 5th course (anything beyond 16 credits, since each course was typically 4 credits) if you had a certain GPA and written permission. I don’t think my school allowed you to take a 6th course at all unless it was no credit or pass/fail (such as a half-semester gym requirement). </p>
<p>The registrar will know what you are allowed to register for, and whether there are any GPA/written requirements for taking an overload of courses. Obviously if your GPA is low you probably don’t want to overload anyway since it will be even more difficult to keep your grades up. But if you are doing very well, then they may let you.</p>
