<p>I am an incoming freshman and I was some credits shy of junior standing. I think I am entering with 84 credits. I also met someone who had 105 credits (which is certainly junior standing). </p>
<p>Please realize that some but not all credits will be helpful in, say, skipping introductory classes or completing requirements (i.e. foreign language).</p>

<p><em>sigh</em> What happened to the good old days when people actually came to college to take college classes? :) Now there are probably middle school kids with college credit.</p>
<p>As for nonsense about "saving" a year or two with lots of units, college years are supposed to be among the most fun and memorable in life. Why shorten them? To get a job sooner? So you can work, maybe 42 years instead of 40 before retiring?</p>
