My school is on a quarter system, and it was recommended you take 15 units each quarter, but would it be that detrimental to you if you were to take only 13 or 14? Thanks, I'm kind of nervous because I probably won't get all the classes I want.

Well, depending on your major, you might have to take associated labs/discussions, which sometimes are an added credit.

15 units is recommended? I'm a little confused how your school's "units" work since my school's also on quarter system and our max load is 12 hours.

But how many units or whatever you need to take each quarter will come down to how many you need to graduate...but I think it's better to take full or near full loads in the beginning when things are easier so you can take less once you get to the more advanced stuff.

my school's on the quarter system, and the max is 3 "units." but each class is one unit, so that's probably around 9 credit hours.

Don't you have an advisor? Ask him or her! If you have financial aid, make sure you keep enough credits to be considered fulltime.

I'm not sure how your system works. My school does semesters, and I try to take 15 hours a semester.
