I am currently a community college student in California studying Computer Science. I won’t be applying to any UC’s, just CSU’s to save money. Due to me accumulating units in AP and dual enrollment, I’m going to have a lot of units by the time I end up transferring. I’m going to get my AS in 2021 next year, but I am going to spend an additional year taking additional classes at my CC to get certificates in Web Development and CompTIA. How many units is too many? I read only 70 units will be taken towards my degree but does any more get me rejected? I will have around 120-semester units after my third year.
Over 70 semester units of lower division courses (including all community college courses) will be counted as 70 for the purpose of transfer to UC or CSU. All courses taken will count for subject credit.
Be sure to check your AP scores against the AP credit listings for your target four year universities, since their policies will be what matters when you transfer there (and their policies may be different from that of your community college, or each other).
Thank you. So only the AP Scores are what is in question, right?
