I'm doing 7 private schools (each their own application), 4 state schools (SUNY system. One state application and 4 supplements) and 3 city schools (CUNY system.)

I plan on applying to aroung 15 schools when my ED school falls through.

When? ***! Lol.

Yes, sadly, "when". I am in love with this particular school, but there is a 99.99 percent chance that the feeling will not turn out to be mutual. Oh, well. People can always dream, can't they?

Only people who dream work towards their dream. If you don't dream, you don't live.

I'm applying to 1

bad idea.

I'm applying from around 8-10.

Kind of a bad idea also, but I'm doing it. Not because I don't think I'll get in where I want, I just really have to be able to compare financial aid packages come May.

"I'm applying to 1"

and can I ask where you're applying?

I don't have my list completely finnished, but probably just 5, or maybe 6 at the most (wavering if i should apply to upenn) :p

4-6 for me.

I'm applying ED to Wake Forest

Well to make a point, I'm applying only to places that fit me. I have done a lot of research on the eight ivies, and UPenn is the only one I'm considering, and that's a huge IF. For what I want to do with my life, prestige doesn't matter nearly as much as it does in some professions. So finding a place where I will fit in is much more important than going somewhere just for it's name. :p

7 for me. one reach and 5 matches and 1 safety.

I am applying to around 20-30 univs. I beat ya all, eh?:p

I am applying for 12 schools

Honestly celebrian, that is a silly idea. I have literally spent at least a weekend at every single Ivy League school, and with some of them a lot more. I can honestly say that besides apparent differences (Columbia vs Dartmouth), the schools arent that different. I find it difficult the average Penn student couldnt be happy at Brown, or even Princeton or Dartmouth, for example.

well to each their own :p

Remember: You don't pick the school, they pick you. The best "research" you can do is when you actually get in and go on "campus days". Eliminating schools too early is probably the biggest mistake you can make. As an interviewer I have seen at least 6 students do a complete 180 after "campus days" weekends. I know so many people who regretted not applying to more places.

well maybe they will but i won't. I, for one, won't add any more ivies. You can think one way, but I can think quite differently and there's nothing wrong with that. I am on limited funds; I can't blow a lot of money just applying silly willy. :p
