I was just wondering how many people signed up for Poplar as their dorm next year to see if I might have a good chance of getting in.

Please someone! Reply!

I didn’t apply for poplar because I wanted to dorm in one of the older buildings. If other people had the same sentiments as myself, you probably hVe a good chance. The fact that it sounds like you applied relatively early should also help give you priority. Good luck!

I didn’t, because I didn’t want to spend the extra money. I hope you get in anyways; that dorm looks incredibly awesome. :)

I only know there are some rooms last Friday before priority 2 students can apply. D applied with her friend as roommate.

So does this mean my friend and I have a good chance of getting into Poplar? :)

That is what I would assume it means. I think you guys have a pretty good shot at it, even though nothin I guaranteed

I signed up! Hoping to get in there.

This sample is only of people on college confidential. Slim chance because I bet tons of people like the bathroom. That said, SOMEONE has to get it, so it could be you. Your preference is the very last thing they take into account though.

I was talking to my RA and she said that HFS was having a hard time filling Poplar, so they were opening it up to freshmen. You probably have a decent chance.
I’m not surprised they’re having trouble filling it, it is significantly more expensive per quarter than a double in one of the other dorms.

I agree, I would never choose to stay in Poplar. I can think of a LOT of better things to do with the extra $2500. I think they were hoping lots of grad students would want to. Often they really aren’t much richer than the undergrads, though!

you kidding me? so expensive…

FYI - I got into Poplar

Ooh! Lucky! I applied for Poplar, but I’m a transfer student, so I’m not sure what my chances are… what year are you?

I’m an incoming freshman.

Aha. My friend is also an incoming freshman, and he got in (to Poplar) as well. I guess I’ll just wait and see!
