are they "BAD" ?
I have one from last semester and im thinking about dropping a class..

Only 1. I do think they are bad. I made a point to note why I dropped the course in my essay.

-A

I had a ton my first year and since then have had none. I've been told that they aren't "bad" the way D's and F's are but they show lack of commitment. Schools might think twice...

Too many to count!

But I am an older, reentry student, so I think the dedication I've shown since returning to school 18 months ago has been weighted more heavily. Thank goodness.

zero :D ....Im a nerd

No, they do not always mean "bad." Don't worry...

my counselor said they don't really matter that much, **** most of us probably work a part time job 20 hrs a wk, thats why its a "community" college, ppl at the 4 yr schools probably study full time w/no other commitments

It isn't good if you have too many. Def explain why in your app.

4, though 2 were taken the following semester

I have an S (satisfactory) on mine

i have a lot in common with sabrina. there are way too many w's in my transcripts, but i demonstrated real progress in my last two years of cc. still, i don't recomend that anyone follows our route. :)

I actually dropped the class after I applied, I didn't know I was gonna drop it then, but because of all the time that went in to my apps I didn't get time to study for the midterm. I was taking 5 courses though and the max course load.

i have about 10 Ws. I had to explain in my essay that it was because of a drug addiction and that i've been clean for 2 years now and i have shown superb attendence and i've raised my GPA greatly. I got into UCSB, UCSD, UCI, and UCR. Rejected from UCLA.
