about 600 words

hi sophie, welcome to CC!!! :)

Hi, what's up?
I've been reading these threads for the past couple hours, catching up on everything. Everyone has such amazing accomplishments. It's crazy. My confidence level has definitely dropped...but I'll be alright...I guess.

Oh.. this place is such a huggggeee support network!
You get really attached lol..
Don't worry, I'm sure you've got amaaazzzzzzing stats too! :)

this site makes you procrastinate a heck of a lot!! beware! lol it's obssessively addictive!

Thanks for the warning, but I think I'm already addicted. :/

702 words!!!

500 I wanted it to fit in the space well but I did not want the font too small because I wanted the readers to have an easy time looking at it. I don't want to **** them off after they have gone through so many.

the thing is thicks.. columbia reads all apps on a computer...
so i think some people exceeded one A4 page...
and they scan in all paper apps.
so i dont think the word count matters toooo much guys.

the common app says write between 250-500 words.
i think for columbia as long as it's good, it doesnt matter how long it is, provided that its not like 200 words or 1000 words... i think between 350-750 words is good.

are people writing separate essays for other applications?

I hope it doesn't matter that I hand-wrote mine. I had some expressions in there that needed to be written by my hand, or else it owuld have had the same effect. I did fit it into their space though, and it is definately readable..
