How many years and debt...

So the average college student spends around 5 years graduating college while taking out over 20,000 dollars in student loans during that time period. So, I would like to ask everyone this:
1. How many years will it/did it take for you to graduate?
2. Around how much debt do you think you will you be in/or are in after graduation?

“1. How many years will it/did it take for you to graduate?”

I’m hoping 4… Seem to be on track for it.

“2. Around how much debt do you think you will you be in/or are in after graduation?”

Should depend on my parent’s contribution… Pretty reasonable to guess none, but if I’m not going to worry if I have to borrow 10 or 15K.

$0 - going on a full ride scholarship.

5 years (co-op program)

$0

It took me four, I graduated with about 25k.

By the way, here’s a good resource: [FinAid | Calculators | Loan Calculator](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Loan Payment Calculator - Finaid)

4 years
no debt

4 years, but I went to school the whole year, no summers off.

I will have about 60k, and my fiance will have around 30k. We plan to pay it in 20 years and may be able to bring it to 15 years depending on how things go.

^ oh man that sucks.

5 to 5.5 years (transferred twice)

Haven’t seen my FA package for the last 1 to 1.5 years left, but I’ll have around 5k, give or take 2k

4 years

6k — However, 3k of that was unnecessary, but I just wanted it for traveling and such while I was studying abroad. Totally worth it. Would have been 3k otherwise.

hoping for four

$0 - going on a father-mother scholarship :D

All in all, four years.

No debt because my parents paid roughly $20,000 for my bachelor’s degree, including room and board for all four years. I fully intend to pay them back, with interest.

3 yrs (but then 1 yrs for masters)

Around $15k for the 3 yrs

4 years
no debt :)

Just as an aside, the responses you’re getting are not the norm. Most graduates graduate with a decent bit of debt. I think the average is around 20k.

3.5 yrs … total 30k debt…

4 years…0-10k in debt because of post gi bill and parents contribution

Well to answer my question, I might be in college for five years (MAYBE four because my school is switching to semesters my senior year). Not sure about the debt, but my dad says that I might walk out with as little as 8-10k in debt.
