How many programs did you people apply to? And how many other, non-program schoold did you apply to? How many total?

It's just that I think I may be applying to quite a few programs and only one or two regular undergrads. Just wondering what others have done or are going to do.

Insanity. You guys do realize that you don't need to apply to so many schools and are taking the spots of other kids that really want to have a chance too?

i think that i'm going to apply to about 10-15 direct admission and about 4-5 regular. but you also have to consider that when u apply direct (ba or bs)/md you also have a chance of getting into the undergrad program but no guaranteed admission into med school

Why so many schools??? It makes the decision making a lot harder. Firstly, I would max out at 12 schools most. Preferable: 1 = safety, 4 = reaches, 4 = dream schools. Applying to so many places may be a little tough, but I guess the argument is that you want to make the best decision, which means that you have to have the most choices available. So, I would advise not to apply more than 12, but it all depends on how much confidence you have in yourself.

20 schools is insane! I have friends who applied to 12 and they were miserable, very stressed out, and seriously regret it. I would apply to 10 max. I agree with hydrogen3k- 1 safety, 4 matches, and 4 reaches.

i applied to about 5 programs, and like 5 regular schools. The programs are very hard to get into, so yes i would apply to more than 5. Also, choose programs that are within reach, don't go for the ones that you know you dont have a shot at but apply just for the heck of it, because its just a waste of time.
