The title pretty much says it all; as an undergrad degree how much math is needed?

At my school anyway, the required math classes for Economics are Calculus I (but not II, although Calc II and other math classes can probably be outside electives for the major) and Statistical Methods. My school (Elmira College) also has a choice between Econometrics (which has a ton of stats and calculus involved) and a more writing based development economics class. Hope this helps!

If you’re really good at Math, you can be good at Econ. If you’re just okay at Math, the upper level Econ will beat you down.

lol not very much. my school only requires one 200 level econometrics class.

but across the board, i’ve been told undergrad econ is more of an art than a science. which is why everybody and their dog major in it.
