How may this affect me?

I just got done taking my Organic Chemistry final--It didn't go as well as I had hoped. It's possible that I'll end up with a D in this class.

I recently applied to UCD, UCSD, and UC Santa Cruz. My GPA when submitted was around a 3.2. My question is how bad of an effect could this have on my applications? My GPA would end up somewhere around a 3.10 overall, but I'm more worried about the fact the fact there would be a 'D' on my transcript. Truth be told, I really only want to get into Davis.

In addition to this I have A LOT of extracurriculars: vice president of two clubs and a member of others. What do you foresee in my future if I receive a D in this class?

Thanks

what is your major? and you know that D is not consider as passing so you should take it again during spring semester...

If it's a course required for your major, then more weight will be put on it. Maintaining at least a 3.0 will ameliorate the situation.

When I was accepted as a transfer student to Berkeley, Berkeley provided me with conditions to maintain my admitted status. One of the conditions was maintaining at least a 3.0...It was 10 years ago and I don't remember if other stipulations were placed on certain course grades.

Yes, it's required for my major. It's not required for me to transfer however. My intended major is neurobiology at Davis.

if it's not a required class it aint matter...

If your grade is lower than a “C” grade please report it through the MyAdmissions portal, when you gain access to it. Only then can your adviser have the information needed to know what effect this grade will have on your admissions. Since this course is not an admissions requirement and your GPA is still above the normal 2.8 requirement it will have less of an effect on your admissions compared to a required course.
Disclaimer: Still any “D/F” grade can affect your admissions.

Well I have to complete it for my major; it was either take it at the community college or take it after I transferred. I chose to take it before I transferred. So in a sense it IS required, but I can always retake it wherever I transfer.
