State if you are in-state or OOS too.

OOS: 20k per year, LSA scholarship

Maguo, what were your grades/etc??

I'm applying as a transfer next year and if I'm accepted, would hope to get some sort of scholarship because I'm OOS.

If I don't get anything, I'll owe 70-80k after 2 years, and around 100k all together (at Hofstra now and will owe 30k). I really want to go to Michigan, but it's a lot of money :(

Here's a breif rundown of my stats:
SAT: 2290/1530
GPA: 4.0 UW, #1 in class
ACT: 34
National Merit Finalist, AP National Scholar

instate, but when i received scholarships i was out (had to apply for in-state status, took a long time.)

20k / Engineering Scholarship
25k (or so) Shipman.

and Regents.

Dang tetrahedron. So, like is UM paying you to go there or something?

$20,000 LSA
3.8 GPA
1460 SATs
OOS

OOS: $25,000 Engineering =]

Do you guys think a transfer with a 3.9 from Hofstra (hoping I could hold that my sophmore year) and some ECs (in a musical, philosophy club, planning on doing newspaper/magazine at my school next year) has a chance? I think I can also get some strong recommendations, and hopefully write a strong essay as well.

I would be going for a psych/eng(creative writing) double major.

I heard they don't give a lot of aid, but all of you OOSers got aid, so maybe a transfer student like me could get some scholarship from 'em. I dunno though. I guess I'll see come next year.

You have a chance on getting in, however I would not expect any merit aid. If you are a full need student (ie 0 efc) expect to have a gap of around 15k because you are a nonresident.

$1500 Regents :/

33 ACT, 4.0 uw gpa, in-state

Instate, 33 ACT, 4.0 gpa.. regents. Luckily the need scholarships picked up the slack, so total WA says they're givin me about 15k.

Hey tetra what were your stats?

Stats are here.

Actually I'm surprised I got what I got. I've done a lot better in terms of contests and such this year.
