Hey, I'm a white male in-state rising senior, and I was wondering if anyone has any idea of how much aid I would get at UMD.

GPA: 4.0 uw, 4.89 w
12 APs by the time I finish high school
SAT: 2380: 800CR, 780M, 800W
SATII: Chem 800 (still have to take others)
EC's: not worth listing.

Also, do you think I would enjoy going to Maryland if I'm a serious student looking for a rigorous academic experience and not four years of drunken partying?

I am guessing about 8k a year. If you are poor maybe more in grant money.

With those stats, I think you’ll get at least 8k a year in merit money. If you write a good essay and if your ECs are decent, then I think you’re a candidate for Banneker’s.

I agree that you’ll probably have a chance at Banneker/Key consideration. My 2 Ds would tell you that they were both serious students “looking for a rigorous academic experience and not four years of drunken partying?” You will find your own kind there. D1 just graduated; D2 has 2 more years.

Idk man, you will almost definitely get the partial B/K, and you probably have a good shot at full as well. You have much better stats than I had, and I only got partial. On the same token, though, I pretty much did everything EC-wise. And though I only got partial B/K, I got an engineering scholarship from UMD, so consider that as well.
