How much are the monthly dues for Sororities and Fraternities…?

Are there any incidentals besides the monthly dues…?

Dues for sororities and fraternities are usually on a quarterly basis (unless you opt for a payment plan, in which case it would be on a monthly or other schedule). I’m not sure about fraternity dues, but sorority dues can range from $350-$600 a quarter depending on factors such as the size of your sorority’s house, whether you are living in it or not, whether your sorority is renting the house or owns it, etc. Additionally, in both fraternities and sororities, your first quarter is generally the most expensive because you have to pay one-time fees such as badge/pin fees and initiation fees to your national organization. Additionally, this may just be my hunch, but I feel fraternity dues may range from $150-$400 (from what I’ve heard from my friends in fraternities). Not certain of course, so you should definitely go to rush events yourself and get the correct information.

Besides the monthly dues, the ‘extras’ usually cost extra (but are of course optional). This can include shirts, sweatshirts, weekend trips, etc. Additionally, fraternities may have some sort of “social dues” that members have to pay so that they can cover the cost of hosting parties/mixers (ex: getting a noise permit, hiring a DJ, hiring security guard, etc). It does vary depending on the fraternity but I encourage you to check it out! Greek life at Davis is very active and is a great opportunity for leadership and growth.
