How much are YOU going to spend on back-to-school shopping?

How much are you going to spend on clothes and supplies?

And what are you going to buy?

well
$400 books
$100 calculator
$50 basic supplies
$20 digital camera
$10 backpack
$50 shirts
$15 skirt

total $645

OO that much? At most like $20 for binders, paper, and fresh pencils.

hmm.

yesterday i went to officemax and bought a pack of 6 legal-size paper pads (YAY now i'm stocked for the whole year for debate), my first expando (accordion file), a fatty notebook with a spine protector (ive always wanted one; now it wont get mangled in my backpack), and i recently went to target and bought a lifetime supply of different colored pens, highlighters, and whiteout. YAY :) i dont know how much it all came to..

I got 10 notebooks on sale for a $1.00...

And thats pretty much it :p

Max, 20-30$.

$20 for your basics- notebooks, binders, paper, pencils/pens, erasers, white out, etc...

$300 - textbooks

Usually, I spend around 20-30 dollars on notebooks and then probably 300-400 on textbooks EVERY quarter :(

School still doesn't start for awhile for me, but I did do a little shopping at Staples a couple weeks ago. I got:
-Mead 3-Subject notebooks (I think they were 1.99 each!)
-Mechanical Pencils
-A pack of ink pens
And, a lot of those wooden pencils that I hate using. They were 1 cent for a pack of 24 though, so I'm going to go donate them soon before school starts.

hmm im not sure. i have a uniform so i dont exactly need new clothes but i'll buy some anyway lol probably like $300 but i just go shopping whenever it's not a set thing

ughh like $830 for books unless i can find them elsewhere for lower prices but im not having too much luck w/ that, so it's going to be like $600 at the lowest

then like $40-50 for notebooks, paper pens pencils highlighters postits notecards, ink for printer, etc

:o
$3.00 -- two packs of paper

hehe being frugal ftw.

Probably around $350 for clothes and like.. $25 for notebooks and pencils and stuff. Maybe around $50 for a bookbag.

Do you guys have to buy your textbooks? Or are you just going to?

I have to, but I sell back the ones I don't need at the end of every quarter. So, I get a little bit back, but nowhere near the amount I paid to buy them.

Yea, I don't have to buy my textbooks. Must be a private school thing?

I have paper left over from last year and have no problem reusing my last year's binders.

I should be spending about $5,000 on clothes. My mom just got a raise and I'm forcing her to spend it all on me. That way, I can keep her in her place and look good all at once!!

Probably less than $15 for basics. Clothes I don't buy especially for school; I just buy them whenever I see something nice both in quality and in price. I'm conservative, so I estimate that from now until school starts, my spending of money on clothes will be no more than $25. I just bought this cute pair of shorts the other day in the girls' section for only $9.99 (stuff is cheaper in the children's section, if you can fit them). And I bought a nice skirt that was on sale for only $7. So that totals $16.99 so far. Good buy, IMO, considering that some stores would sell a pair of shorts for $20 and a skirt for around that. :)

Holy crap... and I didn't realize other people spent that much money on clothes.

Like $500-600 on school clothes, and then $200 for school supplies etc..

... sarcasm?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=221647&page=2

are you saying that im being sarcastic???

It baffles me that you all buy things before you start...how do you know what you need? Supply lists or something?
