How much are YOU going to spend on back-to-school shopping?

at least $500 on clothes...eek i'm so excited, I love fall clothes!

and i just realized that i don't really know how much I spend on school supplies...I just pick the stuff out, I've never really looked at the receipts lol

Wow.... I wish I had the capacity to spend that much money on clothes.

And I shop everywhere. I just never buy anything over 10 bucks (unless it's shoes, then I never buy anything over 13).

im gonna be a junior in h/s....i spent like 120 on school supplies, i bought a bunch of text books.. those were optional. SAT/ACT prep. books and MCAT because i'm a freakin nerd, anddd reading material for lit. came out to like 200, clothessss... well i shop mostly at Abercrombie & Fitch so a lot. and i think that about sums it up.

wait if you're going to be a junior in HS why are you buying an MCAT book? that's for juniors in college...you might not even want to go to med school in 4 years...thats a long time...

i know but ive wanted to go to med school since i was in like preschool and i know its what i want to do and since its really hard to get in, might as well start preparing now, right? right.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I'm not in college yet, so I guess I can still post here:

$500~ Books
$1,200~ Desktop (assembling myself)
$300~ Clothes
$50~ Backpack

$50~ Miscellaneous

$2100+~

2000ish...

Are we talking high school or college? Cause I'm seeing these numbers in the thousands and that doens't make much sense for high school.

I spent $20 for books, binders, mechanical pencils.

I'll buy nice pants/shirt and a shirt for interviews , like $60 total. That's it. I'm too ****y about app fees to waste more money, haha.

well, arijana, good luck! starting prep now certainly won't hurt you!

well it makes sense to spend a thousand or so if you go to a private HS because mostly we have to buy our own textbooks so that's a lot right there

i know if i buy the textbooks from the website we order them through for school it's going to come to like $830 like i mentioned before, so that plus shoes and supplies is easily $1000

I've already spent more than a $100.00 on just clothing and shoes, and I still plan on doing a little more shopping before going back to school, hopefully. I will not spend much on school supplies, though, since they are not quite as expensive as clothing and shoes.

Wow. >.< And I thought I wasn't really that cheap (compared to my parents).

Just as an example, I went to the Mall of America last year and the outlet mall somewhere by it and spent less than $70 total...including lunch and dinner. >.<

Holy crap! How can you possibly spend so little! I've never considered myself a big spender (granted, I do like to shop). Last month, I spent $25 on two halter tops and a pair of capris... and I thought I had gotten a good deal 0.0 And in February, I bought a pair of shoes for $40 (they were dress shoes, though; I usually don't spend half that much on regular tennis shoes). Even so, looking at two shopping trips alone (these weren't my only ones), I've already bypassed your limit. Seriously... how do you do it? I'm so totally in awe.

I am in awe as well. I usually shop at places like Kohl's, Old Navy, and JCPenney and things there might be a little expensive sometimes, but I've grown accustomed to shopping at places like the aforementioned. I must say, I am a little bit spoiled by my parents, so most of the time I don't even look at the price tag of things until my mom stops me and usually tells me to go for things a little cheaper.

i have to buy my textbooks cuz i go to a prep school so they don't do book rentals. to bad because books are way to pricey. i forgot to add in $600 laptop my mom just brought me...how did i forget that im on it now.... so my total is like 1250 and yes its high school

I'm one of those tiny spenders for clothes ;) Truthfully, I just hate to shop. I'm sure if I liked going around to a million stores, trying on countless outfits, and walking all over some huge mall I'd probably spend more. I buy some stuff online from Old Navy and Gap during their big sales, but not much. I'd say probably around 50 dollars a year, 100 if you're including shoes.

Wow, I spend more than $60.00 on a winter coat!

This thread has made me realize how much money I spend a year on clothes.

It easy, just use 3 or 4 shirts and use one each day. You wear 1 or 2 pairs of jeans. I only have one shoe atm :p
For a school week:
Day 1 - Red Shirt, Jeans 1, Shoes
Day 2 - Blue shirt, Jeans 1, Shoes
Day 3 - White Shirt, Jeans 2, Shoes
---wash, all clean :)---
Day 4- Red Shirt, Jeans 2, Shoes
Day 5- Blue shirt, Jeans 1, Shoes

and so forth... its easy, you just get accustomed to it. :p
