Ugh, just ridiculous.

I know right. This year I’m paying over $200. Next year I have like 6-7 APs…Holy Sh…

I just wrote the check for my S.: 8x$86 = $688. Not to mention 2 SAT I’s and 2 SAT II’s this year.

EIGHT? Wow, I really have no right to complain then haha, I’ve only got 5. We’re not even allowed to take 8 classes in a year at my school… and only 6 APs a year, unless one of your APs is Music Theory, in which case you can take 7 (stupid rule, I’m not even going to go into that)

One is Music Theory and 3 are Physics: B and 2 Cs.

86 * 3 = $258 or 86 * 2 = $172, still haven’t found an administering school for one of my exams.

I will be taking eight, but the state follows a partial reimbursement plan for AP tests so I will be paying just $45.00 per exam instead of $86.00. This comes to $360.00 - still very expensive.

One is not allowed to take both the B test and the C tests in the same year.

Haha I was just wondering how you were going to do that, keylime.

Mifune, what state is that? That’s pretty cool.

$60 for the exams taken at my own school, $120 for exams outside the school

My school charges $90 per exam. 6 exams x $90 = $540.

Ridiculous on top of college expenses, etc.

What are the extra 4 dollars for? That seems a little odd.

I agree, I have spent way too much money this year on things that I don’t want to do. I can’t believe I paid colleges like $70 each so that I could write essays for them. Bah.

Lol imagine the charges they charge you for sending your scores.

4 x $95 = $380.

Apparently my school is the only one in the district that doesn’t charge $86. I wish I went to one of those schools who pay for their students’ AP tests. I would’ve taken 7 or 8 tests but I don’t really want to pay 800 dollars…

They really shouldn’t charge separately for the physics exam. It’s ridiculous.

For all those complaining about the cost and think 86$ is expensive for an ap exam, wait until you have to take classes college.

Just think how much you are going to save by taking the ap class and passing. If you pass, you don’t have to take that class in college. The college gives you credit and lets you take some other class its as if you took the class and passed at the college. Spending 800$+ is common for ONE class if you are going to an ivy league or private school.

For some of you, its in the tens of thousands. No joke.

$13 for each AP exam. I’m taking six ($78) and that is less than the cost of one AP Exam :D.

$14 (times 7 exams= $98) since I qualify for a reduced price because my family has a low income.

$0 - District is paying (hopefully this doesn’t change) for all of them. That’s probably the only sensible decision my district has ever made.

I am so jealous of your district.
And where I live, even reduced price is $56. And we’re required to take the AP test for every AP class we take. It’s hard to believe that our district actually tries to convince us that they’re doing a good job bridging the socioeconomic education gap…

xxrunningonempty = hella lucky
