How much are you paying for Syracuse

I don't know if this question its too personal, but for current studets, how much are you paying yourself? How much money did the school offer you? Did you have to get a lot of loans? I know Syracuse is not a cheap school but is it hard for you guys to pay for it?

Any answers help :)

Last year my son received an $8,500 merit aid award, which frankly didn’t put much of a dent in the COA. He’s at UMass Amherst (in-state) studing engineering and enjoying it. We just felt that the premium for Syracuse over UMass (effectively double the cost) was not worth it, giving the similar ranking of the engineering schools. He also decided he didn’t want to be that far away from home. Syracuse is a great school, no doubt about it, particularly for communications and some other selected majors. But if you have a good in-state alternative in general or for your particular major, or are undecided on a major, and cost is an issue, I would think long and hard about signing up for a lot of loans to go to Syracuse (or any other school for that matter).

SU does not meet 100% of stated need. My child, who applied ED, has an EFC of zero and received $28800 per year as a grant from SU, $7500 per year in loans and $2700 in work study annually. The tuition bill on the fall will be $2400 and another $2400 in the spring.

Did you mean $24000?^^
