I just finished section 2 and we were doing the cursive part. The proctor said it was ok if it wasn't in cursive and I always had hard time writing in cursive in the previous tests, so I just wrote in the normal way.

2

I schemed through my test and saw I had 2 25 minutes long writing sections. To see which one the experimental section was I asked my friend's first question on the writing section. I could determine that section 3 of my test was experimental. I put in random answers and moved on to the next section.

3

So on the next section(the one that i wasn't supposed to be working on) had this passage about rattle snakes. I needed to figure out the word in context. I knew it was either express or bore. i wasn't sure what bore meant. I wrote it in a small slip of paper "what does bore mean?" and tried to give it to my friend

4

i got busted before giving the message to my friend.

5

on the note there was a math question that i did not intend to give my friend
basically the proctor would suspect me of trying to cheat on multiple sections

6

I was moved away from my friend and we were reported. our names were highlighted and a message saying "asked?" was written next to it.

7

after i got moved i didn't not try ANYTHING to gain an unfair advantage.
suddenly my turned off phone turned on in my pocket. it must've been pressed down or something. To avoid any bigger trouble i informed the proctor that my phone turned on and i gave it to her. 15 minutes before the test ended. the phone rang

this basically made me seem even more suspicious.

i was caught cheating once. but now i will get caught for cheating twice because CB will see how messed up my experimental writing section is compared to my real section. the worse thing is i will be suspected of cheating 3 times since the phone rang, even though i had nothing to do with that.

8

my mom wants me to get my score reported. she will find out once the scores don't come out.

I want to accept the fact that i tried to cheat. What I'm really afraid of is my belief that CB will think all i tried to do in this test was cheat. the phone problem and the cursive problem made it seem that way.

will colleges know about what happened in this test when i submit my application later this fall?

wow dude. Seriously lol, cheating on the SATs is nearly impossible, but getting caught? **** man lol. If you want me to tell you the truth (my guidance counselor told me all about this). here it is =/

Basically, if your ever caught cheating, the proctors report the student. Once you’re reported, your score will be terminated-it doesnt end there. Heres the painful part… Collegeboard basically reports you to ALL the universities/colleges in the nation, thus barring you from acceptance in any of those schools.

You are essentially screwed. This is, on the whole, your fault, and you deserve to face the consequences you incurred when you decided to cheat. I do not mean to be “harsh,” but I’m simply being realistic. Just as a warning: if you are looking for sympathy here (I’m not saying you are), look elsewhere.

I sincerely wish you good luck with admissions – you will need it.

seems like i’m in an endless pit of ****. the best thing i could ask for is CB just canceling my scores and not telling the colleges. but it seems unlikely, because i LOOK like i was trying to cheat 100%. i’m not saying cheating 10% is ok. it’s still bad. but i heard cases where all CB did was cancel the score.

lol dude my friend though one of the math sections was an experimental so he slept during that section and then was shocked to find 2 35-question writing sections lol

I also had a lot of trouble doing it in cursive. I was only halfway done when everyone else had finished. I pretty much just scribbled the rest.

Even if you cancel your scores the proctor should still have reported you. So if the proctor did…there is no way out of getting in trouble at this point.

screwed royally dude. you basically got screwed 6 ways to Sunday.

1) You NEVER try to get help because you just f-ed over him.
2) You always hand your cell phone over to the proctor at the start /don’t bring one regardless so there isn’t any question about whether you were using it.

The title of the post suggests that you are really asking how deeply screwed are you. Well, in to answer that I will point out that when an important college advisor was asked what happens to kids who have been caught taking drugs in high school her answer was something to this affect.
Kids in high school try drugs, colleges know that and don’t take that too seriously unless they are hard drugs or are selling them. What really concerns colleges is character-such as violent behavior (bringing weapons to school, etc) and cheating, those are unexcusable.
Ooooooooops!

don’t worry. i was in this situation.
but i didn’t cheat.

During the first 5 minute break between sections 3 and 4, I took my ipod out and listened to it in the hallways. Suddenly this lady passes me up and starts yelling about how it’s illegal to have an electronic device. I was REALLY scared. They reported me to the principal and he took my ipod. They sent me back to my room to complete the SAT. Once the SAT was over, I went to the principal and asked if my scores would be canceled. He only said that he will report it. So I waited 2 weeks to see if they canceled the score. Luckily, they didn’t cancel my score, and CB sent me an email explaining the situation. They pardoned me of my “mishap.”

:]

but i can’t say the same happy ending will happen to you.
good luck :]

hmm…tough call but what is most likely going to happen is your scores being canceled. As for collegeboard reporting to all of the colleges that you tried to cheat, nah that’s farfetched. But nevertheless man, cheating on the SAT and getting caught is too big of a risk so be careful next time.
