How much can this affect you?

Many kids at my school applied Early decision to a local state college. Most of them got in. I'm applying regular, and I'm an okay match for the school (60/70 % range). Some of people who got in early were probably in the 50% range, so if I had applied early I might have gotten in ( I thought I wasn't a good match for early so I didn't). I'm wondering how their admission affects my chances of getting in. My mom is telling me that I'm probably not going to get in now, and I agree with her, but I'm wondering if I'm overthinking this. Or am I screwed?

You’re overthinking it- don’t stress! There are no official quotas, if you’re right for the school then they’ll accept you. Especially with state schools. Plus, applying early doesn’t really make up for lackluster grades so those aren’t really related.
