How much can you bench?

You just have to keep adding weight and challenging your muscles. It takes a LONG time for anyone to get up to 300.

5'10"-->285lbs.

I'm 5'4, and the last time I benched was a year and 1/4 ago. It was about 45-60lbs. Yeah, I'm weak, what can I say.

I don't think I could bench just the bar either! My max is probably about 10 lbs- that's a fairly generous estimate though. :-)

MooMoo, my backpack probably weighs about twice that.

About 50lbs or so, the last time I tried, which was about half a year ago. More on the incline. Hehe.

5' 8"-->315 lbs.

And, no, if you're genetically strong, you can build up to 300 in about 2 months. Its freaky scary to watch someone do that though.

I'm 21 years old, 6"1', weight = 215 lbs. About four years ago I weighed 180 lbs (190 lbs is the most comfortable weight for me....215 came with some extra fat) and I maxed 240 lb bench, shortly after I started lifting weights on a regular basis. I got lazy and stopped lifting after that. In December of 2004 I benched 250 lbs twice, but that was after 10 reps of 150 lb, 5 reps of 200 lbs, and 3 reps of 225 lb with very little rest in between....I was just fooling around and trying out my cousin's new weight system. So I could probably bench over 250 lb if I wanted to go for a true max. Not bad considering I hadn't benched anything between June 2001 and December 2004. If I had stayed with the weight lifting four years ago and got into a good program I probably could be benching over 350 lbs by now. I have the genes for it. When my dad was my age (he has the same body structure as me) he maxed out at 475-500 lbs. But he was a football player and did a lot more lifting than I would ever do. He was 5'11'' and maybe weighed 200-220 lbs at the time.

A big difference between people is the distance they have to press the bar. I know some guys who are so big the only have to push what for what seems to be a 12 inches. But I press the bar for about 23 inches, the length from my grip to my chest. I do push-ups the same way, but sometimes with greater distance since I like to use push-up bars.

im 5 9 - 5 10 rite now and can only bench about 140 - my weight - thats not my max but thats what i regularly can do......im trying to increase both how much i bench and my weight
u think ill still get any taller?

6'2" - 210 lbs - maxing at about 215
Anyone taking any whey or creating supplements or been on 1AD or Methyl 1 or Andro?

i use whey

my friend took M1T this summer and made very little gains--supplements cant make up for hard work

I use Optimum Nutrition Whey and take creatine
The creatine has worked well for me in terms of weight gain
You just have to drink a LOT of water
I have a bunch of friends who took M1T and they all had tremendous gains but they were in the gym for 2 hours a day every day, so ...

I knew a girl who could bench 210. She weighed 170 tops. Holy crap she was such a hoss.

i'm 5 9
i weigh 135
i can bench 90
that's sad
i have to go to the naval academy this summer too. i cant even break 100

Start taking Creatine, Glutamine, and Whey and get a gym membership. Lift hard for 2 months and you could bulk up to 160 and I dare say bench at least 150. Talk to the people at GNC and they can help you out.

hashah easier said than done BCgoUSC

Make a routine, eat right, and don't slack off.

If you approach working out the same way you approach studying for the SATs, or something similar, you're going to see real results, real fast.

Yeah I agree
To build muscles you are going to have to pack on the calories and the protein, but you're also gonna gain some fat.
Make a routine, but vary it so that your muscles don't get used to it. Look into some Whey Protein to supplement your protein and creatine to gain weight really fast.
