<p>I am doing the COmmon App Essay and while it says it allows only 250-500
It gives you space for 6000 characters which is more than enough for 500 words.</p>
<p>I have my essay currently at 528 down from 690 last night. </p>
<p>And after I do the print preview thing..... my essay doesn't actually seem that long and it never gives a Word Count.</p>
<p>Do you think the adm officers would mind if I had 528?
It's not like they have a machine to count it right?</p>
<p>528 is perfectly all right, don't worry about it. Of course if they wanted to count it they could (the machine you're looking for is computer lol, since most word processing softwares have word count) but as far as I know they give comparatively little importance to word limits and the like.</p>
<p>My essay was 530 words, and I got into my school, so I really wouldn't worry too much about little details like that. Good luck!</p>

<p>dude my brother got into brown with an essay which was FRIKKIN HUGE!!</p>
<p>we stayed up the night to bring it down to EXACTLY 6000 characters so that it wud fit in the commonapp space </p>
