How much can you reasonable expect to improve your lsat score?

Hey guys a roomate of mine took a diagnostic lsat at kaplan today and got a 159 with zero studying. What could he reasonably expect to get next fall if he studies hard during the summer and takes a lsat advanced course on campus through kaplan? Also he says his worst section by far was the logic games section because he ran out of time with about a third of the questions left so he put C for the last seven. Thanks for the input.

From cold to the real thing? If you study hard, 15 points.

We’ll be conservative and say 10 points.

My cold score improved 12 points from freshman year. With no prep, other than knowing to C out the answer sheet when I run out of time.

thanks nyustudent, anyone else been through this?

I’d advise against burdening yourself with expectations, unless you’re planning to apply to schools before you have an actual LSAT score, which I would also advise against doing.

The best course is to prepare adequately, but not obsessively, and then give it your best shot.
