It depends on which APs you took and which school you applied to because each one has their own AP credit policy.

I got about 30 units for my AP tests. I don't think you could get much more than that realistically (maybe up to 40, I highly doubt 60 would be possible). Since 30 units equals a year, it'd be unlikely for AP units to push to junior standing. If you did IB (20 units) and took community college courses (20-50 depending on how many you took), you could get junior/senior standing. With APs only, though, I doubt it.

so what would this junior standing give you? would u be able to graduate in 2 years or what?

No, it actually doesn't mean much. As far as I know, standing only affects a couple things. The first noticeable one for me was that I couldn't sign up for classes restricted to freshmen and sophomores only (e.g. the freshmen-sophomore seminars). You may be eligible to join certain groups that require junior/senior standing that other first years cannot join. You get to sign up for courses earlier. If you have senior standing you'll get random e-mails about graduation that isn't relevant to you.

That's about all I've noticed.

well actually, my school has a dual IB/AP program, which I am in. I was under the impression that Berkeley, and most US unis, dont even recognize IB.

So in addition to those AP's, I would have an IB Diploma by graduation.

My predicted IB score is 41-43, if that means anything.

Oh, well the IB Diploma gives you a guaranteed +20 units, so you will definitely have sophomore standing. Junior standing still seems unlikely, though.

Depending on your anticipated major, it might not mean jack. Pre-med people, for example, need to retake the basics despite APs.
