How much debt is too much?

..to have at the end of college? Is 30 or 40 K reasonable?

what kind of job do you plan on having? Are you a philosophy major or an engineer? Big difference there.

Well, probably something in the financial sector that would make decent $.

I'm no expert, but I found this article helpful: <a href="http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/CollegeandFamily/Cutcollegecosts/P36836.asp?Printer%5B/url%5D">http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/CollegeandFamily/Cutcollegecosts/P36836.asp?Printer</a></p>

I've talked to students who plan to be $70K in debt for undergrad and hundreds of thousands in debt for medical school. How can you ever get out from under debt like that? I'm not sure it's wise to start out by assuming that you will make tons of money because lots of things can change once you step foot on campus.
