How much dialogue can the UC personal statements contain?

Prompt #2 (all applicants) 400 words
Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

I’m talking about my experience getting through to a person who was initially unwilling to communicate with me. Then, I talked about how that person helped me perceive people in a different light.

The problem is I think I might have too much dialogue, which could potentially detract from its authenticity. It might sound a bit too much like an excerpt from a story book instead of a reflection essay. So I ask you, how much dialogue is too much dialogue?

Thanks

My essay on prompt #2 contained quite a bit of dialogue as wel. I had to edit it a few times to get it at a reasonable amount. With a 400 word essay, I would suggest trying to truncate some of this dialogue and focus more on this event’s importance and impact on you.
