So I just got Direct Hits vocab book study and I quite like it.
I'm planning on taking the test on March.
How much has this book helped you guys in terms of brining up your score?
And do you think using memorizing only the words in this book will be sufficient enough?

it could help your score, but if you want to bring it up significantly i think that practice tests would be more effective since vocab is only around 5 questions per section and half of them are pretty easy. if your major weak point is vocab, then focus on this book; i haven’t used it but i’ve heard it’s really good. but if you just want to improve your score overall, i personally think just memorizing vocab is a bit of a waste of time. i studied for this section mainly by getting the SAT question of the day and flipping through a prep book, and i got a 790 on the critical reading section, so i’d advocate for practice with the question style over memorization. again go for it if you think it will be beneficial to you, but don’t spend too much time memorizing vocab, b/c it’s ultimately not a huge section of the test.

I disagree with special.

There’s a lot more vocab than just the fill in the blanks. There are many vocab questions in the reading section too. I use DirectHits in the SAT prep class I teach, and I have seen it significantly improve my students’ scores. It is TOTALLY worth your time to learn as many words as possible, starting with DirectHits two books.
