What's your major?

Holy wow.

hmm.

I'm a biology major. The outrageous price is partially due to some problems I had with a half.com/ebay seller. I never got 2 of my textbooks and had to buy them again from the ucla store. Really expensive isn't it?

i spend about 300.
two books from UCLA bookstore.
1 from amazon.

the books were change on me also, but luckily i sold it right back on amazon and only lost 3 dollars. .( change occured in Econ 11)

The only reason i purchased books from the UCLA bookstore was because one of the required parts was some weird "maple Projects problems" type of supplement that they put with the book, that i couldnt find. the other book was bundled with the solutions manuel and it was only about 20 bucks more expensive then getting used books online.... so i opted for that.

I looked at my credit statement and I actually only paid $233.32 for all of my books. Not bad considering I had to purchase 16 books altogether.

it seems the majority here spend less than $200....which makes me wonder the reason for UCLA's estimate of $500 allocated for books

Citan,

I think it's for brand-new books...and umm...15 classes.
