How much did your SAT scores increase?

Well I took the SATs for the first time the end of my sophomore year and just werent where i wanted them to be getting about a 520 on writing and reading and about a 600 on math. I was aiming for about a 600 in each category. I will take the SATs probable 2 times next year...probable once near christmas and then again at end of year. On average how much did your scores increase? thanks.

My friend went from a 1950 to a 2380.

wow thats great! if i got a 400 point boost that would be awesome....but i most likely wont.

i was 1430, my may was 1800, now im at 2050ish, aiming for 2100-2200.
mmm 600 pts +?

work hard, not all are possible; but many will be possible. =p

mine went up 10 pts!
2090-2100

2040 to 2340. 300 point increase.

Nice job Ashraf. Im in the same ballpark of your old score, 2030. Hope I can get there like you did. Care to say what you did to get that high?

I was a year older, and I'd taken a lot of practice tests, so I built up my skill pretty rapidly with consistent practice and had naturally grown intellectually as well.

430 points
167 PSAT --->2100

I got 1800 in may, I took a practice test wednesday from the BB and got a 2010.

thanks everyone...raising 300-400 points would be great for me

superficial35 your friend improved by that much?? How long did he prep to get that jump from 1950 to 2380?

240 points I think.

so far 330 points.

Down 120 points.

240 PSAT
2280 SAT.

I took the new SAT when it first came out in 7th (8th?) grade for me and I got around 1700? When I barely understood English (500 on reading still!)

I took a diagnostic test last week and got around 2000, prior to hardcore studying that I have planned.

diagnostic test? where can i take one of these?

Was this difference between 2 sittings? I wonder if ETS flagged her test, a 430 point jump is quite impressive regardless.

I hope you're not very disappointed. You still have an excellent score.

It must be astronomical odds to score perfect on PSAT and SAT.

I am very frustrated because I sort of chilled out of studying after the PSAT results came in because I thought I had everything made. I took a test once every couple weeks or so, but I wasn't preparing very hard and it came back to bite me.
