Especially if you're doing them in Senior Year. I'm wondering if it's worth it, because I'll only be able to give my exams and get an official grade in May 2013, way after college applications etc.

AP exams allow you to get credit, which can save thousands depending on which college you go to.

The actual purpose of APs is to get advanced placement so that you won’t have to waste time relearning stuff you already know in college (so you can either take more advanced courses, take additional free electives, or graduate early and save some money). How much they count for depends on which APs and which colleges (put “AP credit” in their web site search boxes).

Thanks for the response. I understand what you guys are saying, but other than getting to minimize stress in college, would it help in admissions? Would it help increase my chances?

Yes, in a book by a Duke admissions officer, she said that AP exams are actually helpful in admissions and scoring very high on them can certainly help you.

I see, thank you… :)
