On average,in terms of college admissions how much weight College Summer Programs carry?

Going to Harvard's summer program, for example, does NOT give you a boost when you apply to Harvard. It may be a good idea, but all of the stronger summer college programs are rated about the same by college admission committees, and there is no home field advantage.

This isn't a "college" summer program, but what about TASP? It's not a hook, but it is it even a slight hook, or it does it not matter?

TASP, by contrast, counts for a lot, because it takes brains rather than money to get in, and it has a national (international?) catchment of students. So TASP (or RSI, for math-science buffs) is a major hook when applying to any college. Not a guarantee of admission, but a very good summer experience to have. TASP and RSI are MUCH more selective than any summer college program specific to one college.

So I take it that taking a summer Program at Cambridge isn't going to help me?

It won't help you get into Cambridge, and it will help you get in anywhere else only insofar as doing something academic during the summer is better than watching TV or playing video games. But it may still be important for your development, so it may still be a good idea.

I'm not aiming for Cambridge, however will it count alot in terms of putting on a college application in terms of applying somewhere else?
