I have around a 3.3 as my non science gpa but a 4. 0 for my science gpa
How much would that harm me

With 140+ US med schools, it’s unknown what weight any one particular school would place on non science grades. It’s not that non science grades are unimportant, they are important. But I think sGPAs are generally considered most important followed closely/equally by cGPAs. But keep in mind that all grades are broken down and reported to med schools by individual year and cumulatively. So for example a downward trend in your non science grades would easily get noticed and may give an adcom pause. It’s better to submit the strongest app possible so work on raising your performance in non science courses. Good luck.
Any competitive entrance screening, does not matter if it is med school application, residency matching, job application, contract granting or even selling a house, there is an infallible rule, that is you need to compare your “stats” with your competition. In med school application, its pretty simple, the adcoms need to determine whether you will be in line with all the traits of other applicants.
There is no question that sGPA is very important, but its not the only elements the adcomms is looking at. They will at least compare your other subjects with the applicant pool. If everything else is equal (MACT LORS and ECs), they will compare your cGPA with others to determine if they want to take you. Obviously, your non-science GPA is inferior than the others because the overall GPA for any MD school is around 3.7.
How much college have you completed?
Based upon the OP’s posting history, it appears they are a college sophomore.
Long way to go yet and still have that 4.0 sGPA for a medical school application.
S had GPAs below 3.2 at end of first year. He waited until he graduated to apply and got accepted. Obviously I’d tell you to keep up your science performance. If anything I’d suggest slowing down, plan to apply at end of senior year. It would maximize time to raise cGPA, add ECs, prepare for MCAT, and have a college life. You really only want to apply once with strong app.
BCPM and Cumulative are definitely more important than non-science but it’s not like it’s hidden. The 3 are listed right next to each other.
