How much do midterm grades during senior year matter?

How much do midterm grades during senior year affect college admissions? I got a C and a B on 2 of my midterms, and I'm not sure whether this will be a big negative if I'm applying to really high level schools. I mean, I have A's in basically everything else, but still....idk. What do you guys think?

Top schools don’t want students to skate their last year in school. Midterm grades can make a difference.

Ignore, edited out, sorry.

Midterm grades don’t matter at all!

Don’t worry, when you get rejected it won’t be at all because you started to do poorly academically. :)

But does getting a B and a C on my midterms count as “skating my last year in school”? I mean, I did manage to get A’s on my senior quarter grades. Idk, I’m just scared that midterm grades WILL matter for ivy league schools/other high-caliber schools ><

How will schools see your test scores?

As long as you don’t get like 3 Cs, I guess you’d be fine. (I did pretty bad too :frowning: )

I’m also worried. I got a C in precalc. I’m bad in math (i’ve gotten Bs in it up to this point) but I’ve never, ever gotten a C, so it sucks.
Do colleges account for grade scales? For instance, my school is on a 7 point scale, meaning my C (an 83) would be a B at many other schools (which makes me want to rip my hair out)
BUT ANYWAYS, we won’t have to deal with it for much longer :]
I think we should just relax…but not relax too much ^_^

Your counselor sends a profile of your HS along with your transcript; that’s how colleges account for HS curriculum, features and differences.
