I'm an international student here in the U.S. for 7 yrs. Will get my Canadian permanent residency probably 1 month after I land in Canada, maybe during winter break.

I know canadian schools focus alot more on the senior year grades. So i'm a bit concerned about my downward trend this semester. I got straight As in Junior year with 4 APs and this year i'm currently taking 5 AP classes and got 3 Bs in Literature, Econ, and Physics(Hon.)

here's some of my stats

GPA: uw 3.9 w 4.71 (up to junior year)
SAT: CR 680 M 800 W 710
SAT iis: Math IIC 760 Chinese 800 Chemistry 700
will have taken 10 APs by the time i graduate
lots of extracurriculars (if they even consider)

how will this downward grade affect my chances at Mcgill? I really want to go there..

For Canadian citizens and permanent residents, your McGill application is based on your top 5 grade 12 academic courses. So senior grades are the ONLY ones that count. I don't think they consider EC's for admission, but I'm not sure, I am applying next year.

For US students, I don't know exactly what the requirements are. If you go to the McGill website, under prospective students they talk about admission requirements. And if you search you can find average entrance marks, I believe.
