SAT 2s demonstrate academic ability in given subject areas. This is why college adcoms use SAT 2s to gauge learning in a specific subject area. To the not very competitive colleges, I think the impact of SAT 2 is limited. However, if you are applying to very selective universities, your SAT 2 scores are very well as important as your SAT 1 scores.

But at the end, it's just a test score. With the de-emphasis of many college admission teams on strictly test scores in evaluating an application, a bad score won't necessarily kill your application. But it is generally still a factor that they take into account when reviewing your academic strength.

It is also advisable to do well in the corresponding subject areas if you are applying to schools with a specific emphasis (like science/math for tech schools).
