How much do you have to make in order to qualify for a fee waiver?

Applying to 8 schools is expensive. What's the average income or the cut-off income for most people granted a fee waiver?

Additionally, on Penn's application, they provide a small coupon like application to apply for a fee waiver. If they decide that you don't qualify for one, is your application incomplete? Do they allow you to send in the check after they deny you?

adam, i think you should crawl up into a ball and just set ur self of fire. good luck!

If you have a computer you can probably afford it.

20000/yr -25000/yr

I think that you have to qualify for the federal free lunch program, which is a good reason for low income students to make sure that they fill out that paperwork even if they don't plan to accept those lunches.

Your GC would have info on fee waivers.

not necessarily.... if u qualify for sat fee waiver u automatically entitle for a waiver...this is applicable to US citizens

actually kcirsch, I have two computers but my family's income is >10,000. I mean it's so low that I didn't even have to sign-up for free lunch, they just sent me a letter saying I got it. We've all learned to be fairly thrifty, but shelling out 400 bucks for applications would be a bit rough.

My parents are divorced and my mother is unemployed and my father makes decent money. But because I live with my mom and I get free lunch I automatically receive a fee waiver. fyi

you don't have to prove anything to get a fee waiver. My GC just sent a 2 paragraph letter and next day they emailed me that my fee was waived.
