Well first off, what made you want to come to this school? And secondly, how much are you enjoying it? Elaborate about that in terms of athletics, campus, clubs, curriculum, academics, food, social life, city life, things to do, student body, professors, financial help, everything else, etc.
From your overall experience at this university, rate how much you like it on a scale from 1-10.

Well I don't go to U of R, but since I live in Rochester, the city life can be pretty good once you find your way around... a bunch of clubs, the beach at the lake (which is probably nothing like the beaches in Miami, hah), a lot of cool little downtown shops, etc.
It's a pretty cool city if you can ignore all the construction and crazy weather (80s one day, 40 the next, lots of snow in winter).

Speaking of construction, the last time I went by U of R a year ago or so there was a lot of it going on both around and on the actual campus. I don't know if that's done yet or not.

My son attends U of R and loves it there. He chose the school over Cornell and Berkeley. Everyone is very friendly there, he has great classes and a great social life. When he visited the school for the first time he just knew that it was the right place for him. It was a gut feeling he had, when I visited the school for the first time I knew what he meant. The campus is beautiful and everyone there seems really happy. I visited him a few weeks ago for Family Weekend, he was doing great and also told me how happy he was that he was there. Rochester is a great city, lots going on and a big music scene as well. Good luck to you.

Actually very little construction on campus--just one building which I believe is for BME. It's a very handsome campus & the library is a landmark.

I'm a student at the U of R. When I came to visit, I just knew it was where I wanted to spend the next four years. Everyone here is so nice, its really easy to make friends. There are more clubs and activities than you will ever have time for! The professors are great, if you are going to do pre-med your classes will be very big. But than you have workshops with upperclassman who have taken the class, those are usually about 10-15 people. All of the TA's are very knowledable and just great. Both TA's and professors are very accessable, even outside of office hours. My biggest compaint is its HARD here. Most of my peers would agree. We were all outstanding students in high school and don't expect to be able to get the same type of grades here. I do not know of one person that is not happy here. I know the best four years of my life are going to happen here, now.

if you have any question, please feel free to im me at themachine8. I am currently a junior/senior at the university of rochester in the biomedical engineering program. The past semester and summer I completed an Industry Practicum at Kensey Nash Corporation in Exton, PA (outside of philadelphia).

I am a freshmen at the U of R, and I love it. I came to rochester because it was the school i felt most comfortable at, I loved the campus, the Curriculum and everyone was very nice and friendly...it was because of these things that I applied ED.
One of the best things about rochesteris the curriculum, there are no required classes, except for Writing (CAS), but even then there are many topics to choose from. Most of the intro classes are very big, but the professors make themselves easily available if you need them. They all have office hours, and are very happy when you come to ask questions and you can always talk to them after class.
The student body is very nice, and it is very easy to make friends. I feel like everyone loves Rochester and is very happy to be going there.
The social life is really great, there is always something to do. I also Love the city of Rochester. Rochester students can take the buses for free, and they run everyday of the week to downtown Rochester. There are alot of really nice restaurants, and there are tons of great concerts at Eastmen. There are also buses on Saturdays that go to the mall, wegmans, the movies and a few others places.
I also love the size of the campus, and it is so beatiful. Its not very big and it probably only takes about 10 mins to walk across the whole campus.
Rochester offers to many clubs and activities that you will never get bored, and it is very easy to get involved.
I think the food is very good. Many people may have a different opinion, but I like it,,,although it is very repetitive. Theres always alot of options, and you can get food at almost any time of the day.
One of my favorite things is Freshmen Housing. Freshman live in all freshmens dorms, with a few upperclassmen on each floor there to help and answer questions you might have. The Freshmen dorms are very social, and you become very close with the people on your hall.
I would give U of R a 10!.....I think it is a great school and I am having an amazing college experience so far!
If anyone has any questions about anything...my SN is Sugarrush102..feel free to IM me.
