How much do you need to inform schools of changes after application?

I know that if you change your intended course schedule for the second semester you should definitely let them know. What if you start doing something new that's not academic? This is my situation: I plan on getting a job at some point in the near future. Should I let the colleges I applied to know about it when I get the job? Just to be clear I'm going to get the job either way.

no. they do not want to hear that you got a job. I would definitely not send that it. Getting a job isnt going to make or break your application. so i wouldnt worry about that. maybe perhaps if you got an internship for a prestigious company or was selected for a huge scholarship or wona competition, you could definitely email them. but getting a job isnt going to set you apart from other candidates.

No. I’m trying to picture what they would say to you. If i was an admissions counselor, I’d probably just say, um okay… Shortnsweet… is right, any old job will not give you a new “wow” factor

Thanks, that’s what I figured. I’m not getting this job to “pad my resume” anyway, I’m getting it to pad my wallet.

I realize that was awful.

lol np, im looking about getting a job too

No it isn’t! I think getting a job to pad your WALLET is a much better reason than to pad your resume! Honest work for a wage is something to be proud of, while going through the motions to look good on paper… not so much.

Lol sorry if I wasn’t clear, I meant the play on the word pad was awful, not getting a job itself.
