How much do you spend?

how do you guys spend $10 a week? confused and amazed

Well, like I said, I spend $10-20 cash a week max on random needs like club entry fees, food or drink purchases off campus, etc. All the extra cash I spend is for stuff no one actually needs...i.e., illicit entertainment. What do you spend all the extra money on?

Well, my work-study job earns me about $300 a month and that covers my expenses. I could get by on a lot less but I have trouble not spending the money, since it goes straight to my debit card and it's just sitting there waiting to be spent, lol. I like to treat my friends to dinner and coffee when I can, so some of my money goes there. Oh, and since I have a car and am going to school in my hometown - aka I know all the cool shops around here - I do find quite a bit to spend money on.

hmm i don't really keep track. but my credit card bill is usually $200-$300 a month. and no i don't get allowance. not that lucky anymore.

i mean like even if you have a 2 meal plan you still have to have your 3rd meal right and im guessing at least SOME enterntainment all for $10?

I also go to school in NYC. First semester, I probably spent ~$850, not including books, which cost an additional $422. My parents trust me with their money because I rarely ask for any. They gave me a couple hundred to start out with at the beginning of the semester, even though I had plenty saved up from a part-time job in high school (and gift money).

My initial budget was $25/wk, which isn't doable most of the time. I have a meal plan (that's a complete ripoff), so I only buy breakfast food because the dining hall doesn't open until 10 am.

I've probably spent a significant portion of money on just coffee breaks with friends and the occasional night out downtown.

I'm working two jobs over break, though, so I think I'll be able to make back all of my own money that I spent.

$300 a week for allowance?

w t f

I personally believe that location is a pretty significant factor.

going to school in the fields in a town where wallmart is the biggest store well, 10 bucks a weeks is pretty doable. meal plan covers food and 'flex point' system or anything similar covers some other random expenses.

events on campus are either free or cheap and there's really nothing to do in the town itself. i can easily spend $10 a week in such a place and sometimes less.

if i were to go to a school in a city like Chicago or NYC my expenses would definitely be different and much higher.

I go to a school in Boston but I know I'm still spoiled.

however I pay for a couple of my friends who don't have a lot of money when we go clubbing or something. tables + drinks = $$$$$$$$$$

CEH89, I assume the school in Boston next to Fenway you're considering is BU? I go there and I tend to spend around $200 a month, and I'm relatively frugal. Hopefully, it'll be less next semester -- I needed more new clothes and stuff this one -- but still, it's a pricey place to live. My biggest expense was probably food (no one else I know has issues with it, but I'm not a fan of dining hall food and spend too much on groceries).

krnpsychopath, I'm jealous : )

i think i spend round 50/week for meal. also i have a nice car. so i need pay gas insurance and loan... my parents just help me pay the down payment. life is so hard for me to pay reant and loan together. i already thinking sell this crossfire.... "."
