How much do you think I could improve?

I took the ACT and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to reach my goal of a 32. I got E-25 W-25 M-22 R-27 S-19:( C-24. Do you think that I can realistically improve by 8 points?

What does the W stand for? Also, unless I’m missing something, your composite should have been a 23, not a 24.
Improving your ACT score by 8 points is like increasing your SAT by a little over 500. People rarely accomplish this; thankfully getting your ACT up there is a little easier.

You’re likely to get to 26-28 if you prep carefully.
32 doesn’t seem very possible, although you can always try. Remember that only 2% students get to a 32 though.

So, I’ll be the optimist in this situation. The first time I took the ACT was in sophomore year of high school. My scores were as followed: C-26 E-27 M-34 R-21 S-23. In the middle of my junior year, my ACT had risen to: C-32 E-33 M-34 R-33 S-28. I took in in April as well and got a C-31; however, I also took it in June and expect my score to be at a 33+. So, I am under the impression that it is possible, but I think that it will take a lot of work. What grade are you in? Because honestly my score went up that high based mainly on school. I prepped very little for the tests, but I still got my score up there. I also know a lot of people, however, who prepped all the time and can still never get there score high enough. Some people just aren’t the best test takers. If you start prepping and your scores still are not going up, then that might be you. At that point, I think the best option would be to get a private tutor. Also, CC has tons of information on the best ways to prep, so use that to your advantage.

Indeed, schoolwork is probably the best way to raise your test scores.
As for myself…
My first sophomore PSAT was just under 160 (1600 on SAT scale). Then, on junior year my score raised to a 177. Later that year, I prepped for the SAT and scored a 2080. At nearly the same time I took the ACTs cold and scored 30 (first attempt) and 33 (last attempt).

@Fredjan‌, That’s about how mine went too. So, heatman, if you are still in a lower grade I would say to worry less about it because your classes will help to prepare you more. What level of math have you taken?

calc ab but ive never really taken math very seriously @Co1ton‌

You should go back and review Algebra and Pre-Calculus. One can score over 30 on the math portion without ever taking calc.
