^No, same car/same lights. I think retirement fits me and makes me younger.

Oh boy, VH. Hope you can get the insurance pay for it. I don’t think I can deal with surprises when I am old, like 70 years old. I am moving to a retirement community at 70.

I just bought a pair of those yellow blue ray blocking as you’ve seen on TV aviator glasses. . They are great in twilight but I’m not seeing much difference at night.

Here’s my plan for retirement… Back to my 70’s roots. Pot throwing, stained glass window making, glass blowing, furniture making rustic me. If only I still had that hot guy in the farmers jeans . Think James Taylor album cover.

No house fixing here…let the kids deal with it…that’s what my dad did and I’m still cursing him.

Pay it forward…in reverse. ( mind you I am deep into a bottle of Merlot right now…)

I tried glassblowing . It was fun, but note to self: THey discount the glassblowing lessons in the summer for a reason. It is HOT around that oven.

Try glass fusing. It is fun and ALOT safer!

H retired last Friday. He then worked in a float pool 3 days this week. Yet he is so much more relaxed. He sets his days and requests the clinics he wants and has no patient panel so it is like same day appointments. He had been with many of the same patients for 30 years and so they have aged with him and are complicated vs. same day bronchitis and such. That said, he will miss many of his original patients.

I, however, am much more worried. He has completely messed up my personal hand honed schedule. Sigh. I really was not ready for this as much as I see that it is right for him. I might need to go into my own office (I work 1-2 part days a week) when he is off.

We still have yet to decide on taking his pension as an annuity for life with no fees or take it as a lump sum.
Our Financial Adviser originally said Annuity then lump sum and now Annuity. He is very good and we have done our research. What to do what to do. We keep flip flopping.

OF, that is not a fear, that is going to be reality. I picked a really young doctor went I came down to SoCal and he recently told me he wanted to retire when he is 60, he is in his early 40s and I was thinking who is going to take care of me, he was just started practicing when I first came to see him.

I had to stop driving after dark about five years ago. A year or two ago I started taking Bausch + Lomb’s Ocuvite Adult 50+. It took several months, but my night vision is back!

Bob, when and if it happens, own the hair loss. Years ago, I had a trainer who always said to be comfortable in your own skin. One day (I tend to be oblivious) I noticed that he wore a hair piece. I had to get a new trainer, one that wasn’t such an obvious hypocrite.

Btw, re saving money, nobody seems willing to cut my hair at half price, even though I’m 50% bald.

Can somebody refer me to a good link with info about Social Security?

For example, I have heard that the benefits can be penalized if you have annual income over a certain amount. Is that just income from job? Or do withdrawals from our 401K accounts ( traditional , non-Roth) count?

I’ve already had one physician (dermatologist) die. In the last year, I’ve had two (allergist and ENT) retire. At this rate, I’m a bit worried.
