How much does a grade improve if it is an honors/AP?

Title says it all. If I got a B in an honors class, being a 3.0, what is it weighted as?

normally this is how it works.

norm:
a= 4
b = 3
c = 2
d = 1
f= 0

weighted course (not all honors and ap are weighted check your school) :
a=5
b= 4
c= 3
d= 2
f= 0

thanx for the help

at our school, for weighted classes it's
A = 5
B = 3.75
C = 2.5
D = 1.25
F = 0

depends on the school - some its +1 for honors/ap, some its +.5 for honors and +1 for ap, some its no weight no matter what you take, and some its weirder.

ok so what do colleges do with them??? why do schools have these stupid weighted grades -- our school just works like this

A+ 4.33
A 4
A- 3.67

and so on, no matter what classes you take. I guess some schools do it so that they can have more accurate "ranking"?? I hope colleges dont look at my 3.9 GPA (1 B+) and think its that much worse than some kids 4.5 just cause he took 5 AP's but got Bs in them (I will have 8 APs I guess by the time im done)

I guess 8 is a lot on average, but normal/low for all these overachieving CC'ers [[how do you put those smiley face guys in here?]]
