I have good stats and all that, but I decided not to apply early anywhere. Now I'm wondering if I should have. I could have applied EA to Illlinois and Michigan for engineering- how much does applying EA boost chances of admission over RD for these big public schools?

technically EA/ED somehow helps u get into college little more easily
but I was told public colleges are harder because of low tuition and leniency for in state student, plus the school doesn't desperately seek students to fulfill the salary for faculty.

bump......

Isn't Michigan rolling?

no, michigan has a priority decision and then regular decision.

ED helps you more than EA. EA only helps you more than RD if that school sees demonstrated interest as very important.

For Michigan you should read some of the discussion forums on CC specifically for the school. According to some of the posters they fill up the spots early and the earlier you apply the better. Many students applied long before the priority deadline.
