For any EMTs (or non-EMTs) that have already applied to colleges, do any of you know if being an EMT helps to get into a college? I assume that if you're applying to a medical school, it would help, but what if you're not?

I think that is a fantastic EC, and you must have some very remarkable experiences that would be very impressive to an adcomm. Did you write about it in your essay? If it's a passion of yours, it would stand out in your application, jmho.
Good luck!

For med school at least, just being an EMT doesn't mean jack. Unless you actually do something with it and work as an EMT, it won't help you at all. I can't speak for college admissions because I don't think many people applying to college have EMT experience (since you have to be 18 to be an EMT, and a lot of companies won't hire under 21), but I would assume it would be an interesting thing that might catch an adcom's eye.
